FIGHT WITH OUTLAWS THE SOUDAN
DETAILS OF THE AFFAIR. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received April 2, .10 a.m.) LONDON, Ist April. Details of the fight between part of an Arab battalion, under Major Oonry, and thirty outlaws, at Wady Hadi, early last month, show that Conry surrounded the outlaws. Desiring to avoid bloodshed, he demanded their sins render, and they agreed, but when parleying was going on attacked Major Conry and speared him to death. The troops, then opening fire, killed or wounded twenty of the outlaws, tA message from Khartoum, under dated 6th March, stated :— Major Conry, of the Egyptian Army, with a party of an Arab battalion, had a sharp fight with thirty outlaws at Wady Hadi. All the .outlaws were klled or captured. Major Conry and three men were killed.]
