RAIN IN SOUTHLAND
INVEHCAIIGILL, 3ist March. Half an inch of rain was recorded here lor March, the exact figures being
.51 inch. Tn Match, 1913, the gauge registered 7.59111, but this was at the time when the disa&tious Gore floods occurred. De&pite the dryness this season, the vegetation in no way suffered, heavy dews providing ample moisture to aid the glowing plants and vegetables. The drying-up also aided the soil in the sweetening process.
