At an inquest regarding tho death of tho man drowned near Tuparoa, deceased's identity has been established as that of James Turner, who came to the district a few months ago with a Swede named Schroder. The two men were returning to their camp, and were crawling along a lengthy flood-gate, when, at tlie middle gate, Turner fell into the flooded stream. Schroder unsuccessfully tried to rescue his mate, and then had difficulty in crawling, in an exhausted condition, to the camp. A verdict of accidentally drowned was returned. — .
