Immediately on hearing, the sad news yesterday morning, the Prime Minister despatched the following telegram to the chairman of the Town Board, Upper Hutt : "I ' have just heard with the deej>est regret of the deplorable fatality winch occurred at Upper Hutt yesterday morning. Please convey to the relatives of the} deceased my sincere symi pathy in their bereavement.
