BENEFIT PERFORMANCES
•The management of His Majesty's Theatre has decided to give » benefit matinee on Saturday next in aid of the victims of the Upper Hutt fatality. An excellent programme is being arranged, and the management hopes, with the support of the public in euch a commendable object, to raise £100. At a meeting of the Wellington City Band last night, it was decided to give a benefit performance at the Botanical Gardens on Sunday afternoon next in aid of the sufferers by the fatal fire at the Upper Hutt last Sunday morning. This performance will be given subject to the approval of the City Council.
