The French steamer St. Paul, 1633 tons, bound from Noumea to Brisbane, struck on. a rock at the entrance to tha > Brisbane River and sank. Eleven persons were saved. It is not known how many wertf* drowned. The owners of the vessel are tha Oceanic Navigation Company. FIRE ON A STEAMER. WHEAT CARGO TO BE DISCHARGED. (Received March 27, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, 26th March. , The Bucknall Company's screw steamer 1 Swazi, 4941 tons, Captain Abbey, which loaded at Port Pirie, Sydney, and Melbourne, leaving the latter port on 19tb' February, has arrived at Port Said. A fire broke out during the voyage, but it was extinguished. It will be necessary, to discharge 4000 bags of wheat for reconditioning. HENRIK IBSEN OVERDUE. ANXIETY FOR~HER SAFETY. (Received March 27, 10.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Anxiety is felt for the safety of the' steamer Henrik Ibsen, 4578 tons, which - left New York sixty-three days ago. She j has not btcn heaid of since calling at St. Vincent. The steamer is chartered! by the United Tyser Line, and has afull cargo of general merchandise consigned to Australia and New Zealand.
