ON A WATERPLANE DETECTIVE CHASES A THIEF PRISONER CARRIED ON THE MACHINE.

A detective, using a waterplane belongr ing to Mr. Rockefeller's nephew, chafed a negro accused of theft of jewellery on board a steamer. The man was captured, fastened to the machine, which was then flown to the prison.
