MARCONI ENQUIRY USE OF PARTY FUNDS LORD MURRAY GIVES EVIDENCE
RAILWAY- STOCK TRANSACTIONS (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright,) (Received March 25, 8.10 a.m.) LONDON, 24th Maiieh. Lord Murray of Elibank, in his evidence before the Marconi Committee of the House of Lords, touching upon the investment of party funds, the purchase of coal shares during the strike, said that he instructed Fenner (the agent who conducted the transactions) to invest a. certain amount of oarty funds in Home, securities, leavihg Fen,ner to select the stock. All the purchases were made as investments. He was not possessed of information on political matters which were not open to tho general public through the press. Although the coal strike was on he had no information from Ministers about it. He saw no impropriety in investing in railway stocks. Fenner changed the stocks from one railway to another in order to secure better dividends. PARIS, 24th March. Fenner is still awaiting extradition.
