SILVER SUPPLY TO INDIA CASE AGAINST SIR S. SAMUEL.
(By Telegraph —Press Association.— Copyright.) LONDON. 24th March. Sir Stuart Samuel paid the costs of all the informers in the case brought against him by a. man named Bird. Bird,- having vindicated his claim, agrees to forego the penalties. [In the King's Bench Division of the High Court last month a, man named Bird, jib a common informer, claimed £13,000 and costs against Sir Stuart Samuel that amount repiesenting the aggregate penalties incurred by Sir Stuart for voting in tho House of Commons while his firm was the contractor for the pupply of silver to the India Office. i\fr. Justice Rowlatt, under a. statnlp of Ihe year 1801. awarded £500 for oarh of twenty-six votes, but granted a stay of execution pending an appeal,]
