DELIGHTFUL VARIETY BRITISH M.P.'S IMPRESSIONS OF AUSTRALIA. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) LONDON, 3rd February. Several members of the British Parliamentary Party which toured the Dominions addressed a meeting at Connaught Rooms on the subject, of their recent visit to Australia. The Hon. T. Mackenzie (High Commissioner for New Zealand), the Agents-General and many Australians were present. Mr. Leopold Amery (South Birmingham) said there was an impression in the Motherland that Australia was a bare, monotonous country, but they had found it a land of beautiful scenery and delightful variety. From th© Englishman's standpoint, Melbourne, in the matter of atmosphere, was nearer to London than either Edinburgh or Glasgow. Mr. Amery was struck with the bplendid spirit of national defence, and with the enthusiasm for universal training. Mr. Edgar Jones (Merthyr-Tydvil) paid that Australia's assets were unlimited, and she had a people organised "to deliver the goods. The development of Australasia meant cheap food for the Old Country. IMMENSE POTENTIALITIES PLENTY OF MONEY WANTED. (Times— Sydney Sun Special Cables.)
