Showery weather prevails for the opening of tho Feilding Show There are very largo entries in fat 6heep and l&mbs, and good entries in pure-bred Romney sheep, •Jersey cattle, and grade dairy cattle. The champ ionshipß awarded bo far are :— Cattie: Hereford bull, E. Short's ; cow, E. Short's. Holstein bull, W. J._ Lovelock's; cow, C. Hopping's. Ayrshire bull, J. M'Farland's Lord Glenhswn 11. j cow, D. Buchanan's Favourite of Eaton Park. Shorthorn bull, W. Gibson's Blackfield Knight. Jersey cow, O. G. Dermor's Girlie. Sheep : Southdown ram, J. Knight*. E. Short has received a record price for a Romney ram cold to Bayly Bros., Kai Iwi, who paid 200 guineas for Supremo (4409), rol. 9, Romney Marsh Flock Book.
