ARREST OF A WOMAN. (fey Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) BERLIN, 2nd February. The wife of H'err Ahrens, Public Prosecutor in a German town, has been arrested for fraud, perjury, and forgery. The offences are alleged to have been committed while she was in the employ of Leo Schiffman, an ex-banker and com.' pany promoter, who is now himself awaiting trial on charges of swindling, involving several thousand pounds. Frau Ahrens is a beautiful woman, belonging to a highly respected family. It is .alleged that she has been the principal in forty of Schiffman's land companies, all of which came to grief.
