A meeting of the Amateur Swimming Union discussed the programme of the next Olympic Games. It decided that the swimming programme to be supported by Australia should follow the free style in the 100. 400. and 1500 metres, the breast stroke in the 200 and 400 metres, and the back stroke in the 100 metres. In the ladies' events, it was decided to support the free style in the 100 and 300 metres. Conditions regarding water polo and spring-board, plain, variety, and high diving were also agreed to. It Was decided to support restriction of the heats to a minimum number. A proposal to allow the swimmers to stand on the bottom and take' one step at the turn was condemned. It was resolved to recommend to the Olympic Federation of Australia and New Zealand that the teams travel together to the games and arrive early, so as to acclimatise themselves and prepare thoroughly. Particular care is to be taken in securing of quarters and the arranging of proper English diet instead of the Continental fare.
