Mr. Walter Williams, an American journalist, and designer of the idea of schools of journalism, arrived by the steamer Mataram. He intends visiting New Zealand. He is studying the methods of journalism different parts of the world, and has been deputed by the Associated Daily Newspapers of America to write articles on social, political, industrial, and economical questions. Referring to the wool controversy in the United States, he said only a small percentage objected to free wool.
