HUTT VALLEY GUN CLUB
The monthly shoot of the above club was held at Taiba on Wednesday, when two events of 21 and 15 clay birds were decided, the trophies Bhot for being those presented by Messrs. Gadsby and A.. Scott. The former was won outright by Mr. S. Scott (15yds) with 14 breaks, and the latter by J. Brasell (12yds) with 12 break*.
Truth, in & recent issue, saya :—"Unless 1 have been greatly misinformed, Mr. Winston Churchill, in addition to all the other cares of State that rest upon him, has just been confronted with a strike of Sea Lords. If th© story of the strike as 1 havo it is accurate, he brought it upon himself by personally interfering in a personal grievance on the part of a very junior officer— l supposo what Lord Charles Beresford would call "taking charge.' 1 The incident hay. ing .been reported to Whitehall through tho usual official channels, the Sea. Lords respectfully remonstrated with their chief, and then, their remonstrances not being favourably received, resigned in a body. Apparently this hid the desired effect, for the affair, if it ever happened, h&B evidently blown over."
