BOUGHT FROM DUKE OF BEDFORD RECORD PRIVATE PURCHASE SEVERAL MILLIONS OF MONEY. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received December 17, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 16th December. Mr. Harry Mttllaby-Deeley, M.P. for Middlesex, has purchased the Duke of Bedford's Covent Garden estate of nineteen acres. The price paid is stated at several millions. The purchase includes Covent Garden Market, the Opera House, several theatres, and the National Sporting Club. It is the largest private purchase on record. ESTIMATES OF PURCHASE PRICE. FROM FIVE TtTTEN MILLION POUNDS. (Received December 17, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, 16th December. The estimates of the purchase price of the Covent Garden estate range from £5,000,000 to £10,000,000. The purchase includes twenty-six streets, the Waldorf Hotel, the Aldwych, the Strand and Drury-lane theatres, and Bow-street Police Court. Mr. Mallaby-Deeley previously purchased the site of Saint George'u Hospital for half a million, Piccadilly Hotel for half a million, and Saint James's Court Flats for a quarter of a million.
