MEMORIAL tO BOER DEAD. REMARKABLE "MANIFESTATION. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) (Tlmes^Sydney Sun Special Cables.) CAPETOWN, 15th December. Commandos of mounted burghers, carrying rifles 'and bandoleers, are massing at Bloemfontein with a large gathering of Dutch clergy, to celebrate the unveiling of a memorial to those who died in the late war. CAPETOWN, 16th December. Ten thousand people, including General Jtotha, are attending the celebration to-day. Mrs. Steyn, wife of an ex-Presi-dent of the Orange Free State, is unveiling the memorial to women and children who died in the concentration camps. The town is full of armed burghers, who are living in a great military camp near the monument. The whole demonstration is a manifestation of Boer nationalism of a remarkable type. ' IMPRESSIVE SPEECHES. (Received December 17, 2 p.m.) BLOEMFONTEIN, 16th Dec. At the unveiling of the memorial, Mr. Steyn and General Botha and General De Wet made impressive speeches. The burghers fired a salute, and sounded the "Last Post."
