■-' ' i WAITANGI CONSOLIDATED, The report cj. the directors of th« Waitangi Consolidated Gold Mining Company, to be presented to the meeting of Shareholders on 30th December, states that the directors are satisfied that there is ample justification for proceeding with crushing operations, ant' they are endeavouring to obtain a suitable ' plant at a moderate price for that purpose. It ,is hoped to' b6b 6 able to make a start shortly. Sufficient payable ore has been opened up in the four levels to keep a battery profitably employed for many years. There is no reason for continuing to confine onerations to prospecting alone. Messrs. C. Adams and I. C. Dawson are the retiring directors, and, being eligible offer themselves for re-election. The financial statement for the half-year shows that there is a bankbalance of £121 14s lid. WAIHI: HORA HORA SCHEME. The Waihi Gold Mining Company's hydro-electric power scheme is rapidly nearing completion (says the New Zealand Herald.) It is expected that the erection of the mechanical plant at Hora Hora will be finished by the end of this month, as well as th« transmission line and the plant at Waikino. In all probability a start will be made to run a portion of the plant at New Year, after which the whole of it will gradually be brought into full running.
