ALLEGED FRAUDS AT CHRISTCHURCH. Cby telborapu— pkbss association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Tho alleged Customs fraud cases were resumed to-day, C. R. Smith, S. J. M'Cormack, and J. A. Campbell being charged with stealing £12 12s, the property of Hicks and Company, jewellers. Tho evidence showed that Hicks imported a case of German goods, subjected to ordinary duty of 20 per cent and preferential duty 10 per cent. The proper amount of duty wtvs £18 18s. It was alleged that accused falsified the entries, and also forged tho name of Hicks.
