LOCAL STOREMEN

The Wellington Wholesale Storemen's Union meets to-morrow evening to discuss the situation. The position for casual storemen, unless the strike soon terminates, will be somewhat embarrassing so far as the wool and skin stores are concerned.. The wool selling season is just about to open, when a large number of men are taken on in the local stores. In addition to the rain, which delayed shearing, the wool is now blocked from coming into the port. It is not at all unlikely that the first wool sale of the season, fixed for to-morrow week, may be abandoned.
