MAINTENANCE OF CHURCH AND CLERGY. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) MELBOURNE, 22nd October. The Anglican Synod has amended the Patronage Act to the effect that if parishioners fail to make adequate provision for the maintenance of the Church and clergy of the parish they will loso their right to nominate the incumbent. The minimum stipend is fixed at £200 per annum, with house, or £250 without a house.
