MINING NEWS .*>■ — — MANAGERS' REPORTS. Waitangi. — As there was no improvement in the west drivo on the now reef at No. 4 level work there has been stopped. Driving west on the main reef from the north crosscut has been commenced. At this point the reef was going through good country. In No. 2 rise east the reef looks well and a little free gold was seen. Four feet further has been driven In the drive east from the rise in No. 2 Intermediate, and in No. 3 level cast a total of 5 feet has been sunk. The ore is all being saved tor crushing. Dominion. — The deviation drive is now in 1017 feet. The country continues favourable and several quartz veins were passed through. As there is still a good flow of water issuing from the face it is anticipated thtit a, reef is close at hand. Material salvaged from the Devon prior to the sale of the vessel was put up for auction this afternoon at the Harbour Board' 6 J Shed
