UPPER HUTT TOWN CLERK RESIGNS
A special meeting of the Upper Hutt Town Board was held last evening to consider the position of the Town Clerk (Mr. A. J. M'Curdy) in regard to his alleged neglect to carry out certain orders of tho council. Mr. M'Curdy handed in his resignation, giving three months' notice, and in consequence the motion to bo moved by Commissioner Robertson, that ho be given three months' notice, was withdrawn. There was a long and protracted discussion ovei tho matter, Commi=oio!iers Quinn and Beiriington speaking in favour of tho Town Clerk, and the remainder of the Commissioners against him. The resignation was accepted.
