Afc the tallow sales 1301 casks were offered and 834 sold. Prices realised: — Mutton, fine 39s 6d, medium 345; beef, fine 38s, medium 345. SILVER. (Received May 8, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, 7th May. Bar silver is quoted at 27 11-16 d per ounce standard. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows : -—A good entry of bullocks and Bheepj were yarded, and sold readily at late ruling rates. Prime bullocks, £11 to £11 7s 6d; lighter, £10 to £10 10s; vealers, 23s to 48b; porkers, 26s to 375; prime heavy wethers, 19s 7d; lighter, 18s Id; prime heavy ewes, 17s to 17s 7d; medium ewes, 14s lOd to 15s sd; extra prime lambs, 14s 9d to 15s; prime lambs, 13s 6d to 14s Id. At Solway (Masterton) yesterday, the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company submitted a good yarding 'of sheep to a satisfactory attendance of buyers. Competition was much brighter than at the previous sale, and _ prices generally were considerably higher. Forward lambs made from 8s 6d to 10s 6d; medium, 7s 6d to 8s; empty ewes, to lls 3d ; ewes in lamb, 8s 6d ; dairy cows, £b.
