On 26th February it was reported that leading citizens of Gibraltar were sending a memorial and deputations' to Mr. Lewis Harcourt, Secretary of State for (the Colonies, regarding a speech made by Sir Archibald Hunter, in yrhich he accused members of the Chamber of Commerce of thinking only of themselves, and stated that juries are notoriously unjust, and that the town is like an Augean stable. He clearly pointed out that Gibraltar was a garrison, and that military interests must be the first consideration,]
