' • The Observer states that a party of British military and civil experts liastened to Luneville to inspect the Zeppelin. BERLIN, 6th April. The German Government has thanked France for her courtesy towards those on the airship. The newspapers publish conflicting stories, ranging from a mere police visit to an exhaustive expert investigation. The Lokal Anzeiger alleges that the airship was fired on when at an altitude of a thousand yards, and that only the firmness of the French, troops prevented the mob from wrecking it. The Tagliche Rundschau regrets that the officers on the' Zeppelin failed to blow up the airship before landing. Some of the papers demand a courtmartial. PARIS, 6th April. The Customs duty on the airship, j(3300, has been refunded. GREATLY CHAGRINED PRESS. "DISAGREEABLE^* REVELATION." BERLIN, 6th April. Tne press is greatly chagrined over the episode. The Tagliche Rundschau de* clares that France might as Well keep the vessel as a model. The Berliner Tageblatt says the -most disagreeable revelation 'is that the fair weather qualities of dirigibles are no longer in doubt. The wind drove the Zeppelin across the frontier against the pilot's will. OFFICERS ESCORTED TO THE FRONTIER, PARIS, 6th April. The Zeppelin was restarted in charge of civilian mechanics, while the officers were escorted to the frontier in a motorcar. ARRIVAL AT METZ. - BERLIN, sth April. The Zeppelin airship that alighted on the parade ground at Luneville, France, has arrived at Metz." It reported that the commissary at Luneville r merely boarded tjie airship to enquire as to the possibility of espionage. In other respects the airship was treated as if it were on German soil.
