WIRELESS ON STEAMERS
MARINE DEPARTMENT'S INTENTION. (BT TELEGRAPH— r-BESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Replying to a deputation from the Shipowners' Federation, the Hon. Mr. Fisher stated that the Marine Department proposed that wireless shall be carried on all large passenger steamers and feYry boata like the Maori, but not on small vessels. He thought the Marine Department should have more discretionary , powers in the matter of deckloading, and would remove as far as possible harassing restrictions. He suggested that the association should set up a small committee, which would come to an agreement with Captains Fleming and At wood.
