FRIEDMANN TUBERCULOSIS CURE

AMERICAN SPECIAL TESTS. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. NEW YORK, 26th February. The Government has ordered special tests of Dr. Friedmann's cure for tuberculosis. Dr. ' Friedmann claims a certain curp by means of bacilli taken from turtles, ■and lie proposes to reveal his cure to the world without remuneration. REMARKABLE CLAIMS. Dr. Friedrich Friedmann, of Berlin, insists that he has discovered a radical remedy for tuberculosis. He claims to have cured some six hundred persons who suffered from tuberculosis of the lunga or bones, and he announces his readiness \to present, similar t sufferers throughout the world with the new cure.. "No matter what the stage of the illness may be," says Dr. Friedmann,' "I will give any patient one or two injections of my serum, and six Weeks later he can qualify as a strenuous football player." Dr. Friedmann is a man in the late thirties — pale, youthful looking, and tall. He has worked on the tuberculosis problem for ten years, and has tried every 1 possible and remedy, never losing courage, always hoping, learning, experimenting, always convinced t that there was a remedy, and that it had to be discovered. He says that he discovered it two years ago. He knew, however, that it would be criminal to announce his success before having tested it thoroughly. So, without telling anybody, he worked hard; he tested his serum, injected it into all patients who trusted him. "AMAZINGLY SIMPLE." Dr. Friedmann said :—: — "It is amazingly Bimple. I was greatly interested in the discoveries of Koch, but after, the failure of his 'tuberculin' I followed Koch's theory that tuberculosis could only be fought successfully with a serum of living bacilli. "I searched everywhere for that' bacillus, and finely found it— in turtles. I cultivate a g.?m in turtles, and then obtain , a serum which I simply inject into the body of my patients. This serum kills all tuberculous germs in the patient's body, and, therefore> has proved as successful for consumption of the lungs as for any other kind of consumption." "I will give it to all those who suffer," he said. "I have prepared enough serum in the last two years' experiments and work to cure a million patients, and all those who will come and see me will be treated freely. ' I wish to state that I am unwilling for the time being to send the serum abroad, because I prefer explaining how it must be used to my foreign colleagues. The serum can cure, but it can also hurt, if not administered properly. All doctors who visit me will be welcome, and I will be at their disposal; I feel sure that they will understand why I am so careful."
