At a meeting of the* Hawkes Bay Fruit Growers' Association on Saturday a -letter was received from the Director of Orchards covering a copy of the regulations providing for the carriage of fruit by post and asking whether tbe association is prepared to receive orders and see that the^ fruit was promptly despatched. The association. resorVea not to take the responsibility, but individual members agreed to formulate a scheme of their own to^participate- in postal trade -and to appoint a special secretary to attend to the prompt despatch of orders so received.
