SERIOUS FIRE AT NEW PLYMOUTH HEAVY DAMAGE TO STOCK (BT TELBSfiAPH— PBBSS ASSOCIATION.) , NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. Just before midnight on Saturday fire broke out in Archibald Clark and Sons' ■warehouse. It had a good hold "when it was discovered, and the upper story was gutted before the flames were suppressed. J. H. Cock and Company's premises in the same building were caved with difficulty, but the st<>ck wa« much damaged. The building, which i.« the property of Cock and Company, was insured for £1700 in the London, Liverpool, and Globe, and Cock's stock for £3400 in the same office. The loss is about covered by insurance. Clark's , stock was insured for about JJGOOO , in the New Zealand and South British, and the loss is about £2000 in CXCOS6. The fire started in a lean-to over a loading platform, and passed up the lift ■well into the ujjper story. The circninstanoes are suspicious. Two firemen "were injured while fighting the flames.
