"BREAKING UP" CEREMONY
ST. JOSEPH'S CONVENT. A ' concert was given in St. Anne's Hall, Newtown. yesterday) by the pupils attending the St. Joseph's Convent High School, The programme was opened by a "Boat Song," by the Misses C. Dibley, E. Clark, M. Tracy, and K. Wylie. An item which presented a very pretty effect was a "Tambourine Dance" by the junior girls. The rifle exercises by the junior boys under the direction ot Master R. Wickliffe were capitally done. Musical items, both in« dividna'lly and collectively, by the Misses Keauy, Tracy, Clark, Dibley and Wylie. earned well-merited applause. A feature of the entertainment was the Swedish drill by -the senior pupils, under the direction of Mr. Duffey. The audience showed marked appreciation of the vaiious graceful movements, _ which were gone through with a precision that bespoke caretul training. A very enjoyable concert was brought to a conclusion by the singing of a part song by all the pupils. The Rev. Paiher Herring. S.M.. in presenting the prizes wen during the year, complimented the students upon the high standard of their work ; he trusted they would enjoy their holidays, which they had well merited by their arduous Work during the school year.
