GREEK VESSELS THAT ARE HELD UP
INDEMNITY DEMANDED. ' LONDON, 14th October. According to the Constantinople correspondent of the Daily Telegraph Greek vessel* and cargoes detained in the Dardanelles are valued at £1,000.000. Though under the Greek flag, the bulk of the vessels represent British capital. The Porte proposes to purchase the cargoes. (Received October IS, 8.10 *.m.) ATHENS, 14th October. Greece has demanded the release within twenty-four hours of Greek merchant vessels held up by Turkey in the Dardanelles, and the payment of an indemnity.
