The vogue of the queue is just now very strong in Auckland, so strong in fact that some persons of perfectly sane appearance commenced an. all-night vigil before the gates of Victoria Arcade at 9" o'clock on Thursday night in anticipation of the commencement of booking at 8 a.m. yesterday for the remainder of the Ascha-Btayton season. By 4 o'clock the qu«ue had swelled to about 30, and the pressure against the gate? grew greater and greater as daylight approached. A spirit of good humour prevailed throughout ac the sharing of rugs, pilows. 6tools, footwantiers, 4t«., testified. The regulations for booking having been relaxed to permit of e*«ry person booking 15 seate for each of the remaining performances comprising four plays, a total of nearly 1000 seate were booked by the first dozen people admitted. When the < booking office opened the queue continued throughout the day.
