CITY RESERVES
Two recommendations of the Reserves Committee to the City Council at last evening's meeting are of special interest to sports' bodies using the city reserves. These are : — "That the use of the 'City Reserves for winter games be discontinued after Monday next." "That in future the City Reserves be closed for winter games after the second Saturday in September, and for summer sports after the. last Satoday in March." The committee also reported : —"That the Superintendent of Reserves has intimated to the committee that he considers it inadvisable to use the Basin Reserve for cricket or sports this season, and that on no condition should the reserve be available before the ' New Year. There Was no discussion on the recommendations whicli were passed unanimously.
