Delcasse, Minister of Marine, announces that six battleships will be transferred from the Brest station to the Mediterranean in the middle of October, giving Admiral Lapejrrere a fleet of eighteen battleships and six large cruisers. ' The newspapers approve of the completion of the concentration scheme. Lo Temps says it may be assumed that the English, Russian, and French fleets will have duties and sphere* of action that have been mutually agreed uponby their respective Government*. Russian warships, holding the Baltic, will' be able to prevent a general concentration of German ships in the North Sea; while the duty of France will be to deal with Austria and Italy. Messrs. E. Johnston and Co. will hold a continuation of the three days' sale of sterling silver and c.p. ware, leather goods, jewellery, etc., in. their rooms, without reserve, to-morrow and Monday, 13th and 16th September, commencing at 11 o'clock each day. On Saturday morning, at 10 o'clock, on the premises. No. 18, Willis-street, the firm will sell by public auction the contents of Kia Ora Dining Rooms.
