ESCAPE FROM AVONDALE Mental hospital.

Both men have beencon- * cerned in burglaries. Smith has been -* in gaol for several yearfi. He was sup- * -, . posed to be malingering at the gaol, and " J was sent to the asylum as insane, but is " jnow perfectly Bane. He is described as' c' a man with very little ability, but very -*" cunning. Broetbank is a man of- very 1 <•■ considerable ability, and is really ih- ' ' sane, but it is impossible for a layman - to recognise his insanity. He has been "lin gaol several times.
