" The weather was most unfavourable tor the continuation of the Maßterton Competitions yesterday. » Notwithstanding this, luge crowds attended at the Town Hall^furing the afternoon and at Hight the building was paceked to the doors. 'From_ a financial point of view, the competitions have so far been most Successful. To-night there will be a frand final demonstration of all successul competitors, at which His Excellency the Governor will be present. Mr. Stanley Bankin, of Wellington, was one of the most successful competitors at the Competitions, taking first prize in memgrised song, humorous song, and musical TOotiologue. Mr. Eankin's humorous ■elections: were much appreciated. The following are the final results :—: — ¥ Mezzo-soprano Solo. — Miss Petrie, Masterton, 1; Miss A. A.
