The John Edward Taylor art collection has been sold at auction for £267,028. The proceeds have only once been exceeded — at the Hamilton Palace dispersal in 1882. OPEN VERDICT! SYDNEY, 9th July. An open verdict has been returned at the inquest on the body of Thomas M'lntyre, found in the harbour. The deceased was formerly employed as a mechanical engineer by the MasseyHarris Company in New Zealand. He disappeared while travelling on a ferry boat. AUSTRALIAN OARSMEN. SYDNEY, 9th July. The congratulationfi received by the Rowing Association on the Australian victory in the Grand Challenge Cup race included one from Mr. G.
