The jury in, the Cammorist trial at Viterbo retired to consider its verdict, and on returning announced that nine had been unanimously found guilty of murder, and the Test guilty of criminal complicity. The accused were recalled to the iron cage to hear the verdict. Semariae, on hearing that he had been found guilty of murder, drew a piece of glass from bis pocket and cut his throat.
