R. P. EDWARDS, BRICK AND TILE MAKER.
There is one very extensive brick kiln business in Palmerston North, which for many years has been conducted by Mi-. It. P. Edwards. It is situated on Fea-therston-street, and it can be said that there is no larger business of this nature in New Zealand than the one under notice. The machinery in use represents many thousands of pounds, and is unquestionably the most recent and up-to-date procurable in the Old World. It was from Mr. Edwards's yards that the whole of the bricks used in the construction of the new Union Bank were procured, and their fine appearance in the new structure assists to make it a very imposing edifice. Miv Edwards also manufactures all sorts of drain pipes, and now that "the man on the land)" who has to farm on a scientific basis so as to make two ends meet under the very heavy rents and prices of land, should turn his attention to field-drain-ing, and this can only be done satisfactorily by procuring a supply of drain pipes, which he can do at a very moderate cost direct from the manufacturer. A very artistic array of flower-pots is also to be seen at Mr. Edwards's yards. These can be purchased direct or from R. P. Edwards and Sons, the merchants, in their premises, Clarendon Hotel Buildings, Palmerston North. Quotations for any of Mr. Edwards's lines can be had on personal application or by letter. Bricks are sent to uny part.
