In view of the Republican split, extraordinary interest centres in tho Democratic Convention at Baltimore. A similar conflict has broken out between the Conservative and Progressive wings of that party. Dr. Woodrow Wilson, Governor of New Jersey, one of tho candidates for nomination, hae joined Mi. W. J. Bryan in opposing Judge Parker's candidature for the chairmanship. i It is believed that if tho Conservatives dominate the Convention many of the Progressive Democrats will support Mr. Roosevelt in his Independent campaign.
