In the House of Commons Mr. Auate» Chamberlain (Unionist) moved a. resolution! declaring that the action of Mr. M'Kenna, Home Secretary, in oonneefciom with tho attitude he had assumed with regard to the matter of the protection of strike-breakers, was unconstitutional. Mr. Chamberlain Baid the Government's, constant iuterfer&mces were fomenting unrest. tJn the House oflCommons on Thvire' day last, Mr. M'Kenna, Home Score* tery, eaid that in the case oi a complaint regarding interference wftb. the. working of the Houlder Line steamers, it wae not a matter .of protecting tho men who usually worked at the Purfleet quays, but was really one of protecting men brought in specially from, other places ac strike-breakers.
