Gosling (President of tho Transport Workers' Federation) -and Mr. Ben Tillett to trad« unionist* declares that all spare, funds have been depleted. Mr. Leggett, secretary of the London Carmen's Union, was arrested for interfering with non-unionist drivers. He was fined 10s, or a month's imprison* meat. He chose imprisonment. Tho British Seafarers' Union has joined tho strike. There are four thousand strikers ot Southampton, six thousand at Swansea, and eight thousand at Bristol. Dockworkers have ceased work at Manchester. Ten thousand are affected. Th© Tee-side dockers have decided not to strike. Leaders of the Leith dockers., seamen, . and firemen have condemned th* national strike proposal. The Daily Chronicle doeß not anticipate a. national strike. At' a meeting of the West Ham Town Council, the Mayor (Alderman Hurryy refused Alderman Will Thome, Labour M.P. for West Ham, leave to move a resolution to the effect that as the employers had refused to agree to a settlement with the strikers, the Council give instructions that roads under its jurisdiction communicating with the dock* be pulled up.
