' In the Olympic Games trials, SteWart (Australia) won the United-Hospi-tals' hundred yards race in 10 l-seec. J. G. Skeet, an Australasian, wpn the furlong event in 2'A l-ssoc and the Quarter-mile in 50 2-ssec. [Stewart was originally selected as member o^ Great Britain's team for the Olympic Games, but subsequently Australia claimed him, and he was omitted from the former team. Skeet is a New Zealander, formerly of New Plymouth High School and Nelson College. His father is Commissioner of Crown Lands and Chief Surveyor of Auckland.]
