NEW ZEALAND RUGBY UNION

Mr. N. Galbraith presided at the meetin" of the New Zealand Rugby Union held last evening, and there were present Messrs. M. J. Crorabie, J. H. A. Laughton, R. M. Isaacs, E. Wylie, A. Laurenson, F. G. Wallburfcon, and Dr. M'Ewsdy. The Sonth Canterbury Union wrotedeclining to take part in, the country teams' tour, and in consequence it was decided to ask the remaining South Island bodies to nominate one back and one forward to 'make up the deficiency. The following grants were allocated to .the echoed unions: Wanganui £11, Wairarapa £11, Sonth Canterbury £11, Southland £11, South Auckland £10 Marlborough £9, Bush (Woodville) £8, Maaiawatn £8, West Coast £8, Bnller £8, Taranaki £8, Nelson £7, Bay -of Plenty £6, Hawkee Bay £5, Pov«rty'Bay £.5, and Horowhenua £4.
