X ♦ ' I WEBB-STREET CHURCH. ] The anniversary cervices in connection with the Primitive Mothcdist Church, | Webb-etreet, were concluded last evening. ' when the annual tea and public meeting were held. The tea. tables were tastefully decorated, and reflected credit on the ladies of the congregation. The public meeting at the church was presided over by the Hon. C. M.- Luke, M.L.C., who delivered a happy address on " Pei'fioual .Responsibility, in which ho 4 referred to his expenence of tho church, extending over thirty-nine years, and paid a. tribute to conic of the workers who had passed away. The report was" i>ead by the Rev. W. >S. Potter, showing that the various institutions connected with the church wcro in a, healthy state. The membership roll showed that two deaths, one rositfuation, and eleven removals had taken place, and that these gaps had been filled and a net increase of seven nienibeits secured. The trust accounts for the year showed an income- of £255 18s 2d and an outgo of '£209 7s 5d,£BS having been paid off the debt. The report, which wa-s full of encouragement, was', heartily received. The Rev. J. Ward gave a practical address on " The Prospects of Methodism in New Zealand." The Rev. J. Dawson gave an inspiring address on the word " Cheer." During the evening the choir gave a number of items, and Mr. Percy Cutforth sang a solo.
