The lady players of the Hutt Golf Club hold their monthly competition yesterday for tiie Riddiford medal and for the Ladies' Golf Union silver and bronze medals. The Riddiford and bronze medals were won by Mi«s B. Stuart-Forbes with a Bcoro of 106-37-69 ; and the silver medal by Mre. Murphy, 94-12-82. The next best Bcore was that of Miss Foster, 103-16-89.
Mr. M'Clymont, of Vivian-street, has executed to the order of ex-members of tho Wellington Highland Rifles an enlarged portrait, in coloura, of the late Sergeant Dobson, in full dress Highland uniform. The picture is from a photograph of the deceased, taken just one week previous to tho date on which he lost hi 3 life while bathing. Thp inscription on the picture, which will bo bo hung in the V.C. officers* clubroom, Buckle-street, is as follows : — "Sergeant Robert J. Dobson, Wellington Highland Rifles, accidentally drowned at Lvall Bay, 10th December, 1911. Presented to V.C. Officers' Club by members of the Wellington Highland ' Rifles." The picture will not only be a lasting reminder of an esteemed young soldier, but will also perpetuate the memory of the corps of which he was a member.
