POTATO MARKET STEADIES. Tho New Zealand Farmers' Co-opera-tive Distributing Company, Ltd., reports to-day that the potato market is steadier, now that stocks held hero aro lower. Southern 6ollers are, however, still eager to force sales, and the supply is very free. Onions are in good demand for specially good lots; others slow. Fresh eggs are considerably weaker, and preserved aro also clow of salo. Porkers are coming into the market freely, and prices art* blightly easier. Butter is in keen demand. W& are supplying barley meal in place of pollard, which we considor has now risen above its feeding value as compared to this meal. For pigs wo advise Partridge peas os by far the cheapest food available. Very little chaff is offering, but we believe prices will weaken shortly. Grains are unchanged. Demand is good for both apples and pears, and larger supplies could be taken by tho market. Cauliflowers^ are higher, as also cabbage whero quality is good, ttwodos aro in fair demand for limited quantity. Marrows and pumpkins aro somewhat higher. Vegetable*. — Potatoes, £5 to £5 10s per ton; onions, £8 to £9 per ton; cabbage, Is 6d to 2s per sack; carrots, 3s 6d to 4s per sack; cauliflower, choice, 7s 6d to 8s per sack; marrows, 4s to- 4s 6d_per sack; swedea, 2s per cwt; turnips, white, Is per sack; lettuce, fair, Is 6d to 2s per case; pumpkins, Ss 6d to 4s per sack.
