RUGBY FOOTBALL

Interest is < being taken in the meeting between Petono and Oriental at tho AthItio Park to-morrow, not alono because of the unbeaten records of the two teams, but also becauso of the reputation of the players engaged and the quality of tho football shown in the matches played by each to date. In their last two or three games the Oriental forwards have proved themselves to be equal t^, any puck in the competition, while their back division contains^ for the most players who have made their mark iv tho iootball ivorld. Followers of the club will bo pleased to know that 'M'Lood, tho representative live-eight, will again take his place in. the team. The Petone team is displaying exceptionally well this soaton, and with a back division, led by such players as Ramsden and M'Kenzie. something 5 really good in the way of back play_ may be expected, while the safe kicking of Macfarlane may be a factor; in Petono'B favour. Tho No. 2 ground is occupied by Waiwetu and Orienal third-class loading teams. The early matches should provide some interest, it being the first occasion the younger players of the Petone Club have been seen there. Reports of these match ob will be published in the sports edition of Tho Evening Post to-morrow evening. WELLINGTON REPRESENTATIVES.
