Mre. Fletcher John&tonV exhibition ot water colour drawings by English modern artisto opened in TurnbuH's Gallery, 27, Panarna-Btreet, to-day. A large number v( people visited the gallery. The collection is not large, but It contains a number of works of outstanding merit. Among tho armls represented may bs mentioned Tollen Bishop, F. J. Aldridgo, Achilie Cuzzi, Lexdeu L. Pocock, G G Kilburne. R.1., James Cafe, A. W. Strut! . A.R.E., Shaw Compton, R.1., and others equally well known. "The Shepherd's Queen" and "An Angel" (Pocock), "Sir Roger de Coverley" (Kilburne), "The Good Samaritan" (Sheridan Knowles), and "Oh to be Young" (A. W. Strutt— a fine study of horses— attract the particular attention of visitors to the gallery. •'Idle Hours" is a large drawing remarkable for the boauty of the colouring and the wealth of detail. It is almost minia-ture-like in thh respect. Admission is free to the gallery.
